Little Red Riding Hood

Maddi Rayn was Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween this year...and what a beauty she made. My girl has charm, among other amazing qualities! We headed to larchmont Village this year and trick or treated at Sundown. Along the way we were surprised to see Nicole Richie w family and body guards. We aren't Papparazzi, so settle down bguards. We tricked and treated for a good hour, which Maddi got the hang of as soon as she realized that candy was being thrown in her pumpkin. She even knows how to say trick or treat, even if it's in baby speak. What a nice evening!

Happy hump day!

It's raining, it's pouring the little lady's nose is running!

Doo Doo the bunny is sickie poo. Yuck! Poor thing! And getting her molers in, so she's just a happy camper. Decided to not infect any of the other kids at school, and skipping it tomorrow. Feel bad for her, but what can I do. Just trying to get her healthy and back in a feeling good groove.

On a me note- need a crown on my tooth. Dentist says it's not my fault and it's maintenance on a tooth that had a filling, but is now cracked. Thanks for the wonderful teeth mom! Her and I have such problems no matter what we do. Brushing, floshing...nothing stops us from having issues. It's the hand the Lord dealt...must be his grand plan! And my poor husband needs two, and not because he has bad teeth...he grinds them. We got him a night guard 8 months or so ago and he never wore it...now he has cracks in 2 teeth and needs crowns. The doc said if he had worn the night guard like he was told this wouldn't be an issue. I really don't think that he thought anything would happen and I feel really bad for him. Of all the luck, he deserves a different hand. Such a good husband, father and provider. I wish there was something I could do for him. He deserves a biggie...something unexpected and totally fabulous. I have to come up with somethin'.

I just received a note from the mailman to pick up an envelope from the post office from Pia. Ughhhhh...4 months late...guess I wasn't a priority. I don't even think I'll have the heart to read the document. The final meanness from the meanest man ever. Maybe someday, maybe never. It makes no difference either way. Time is the only healer...and we'll see how I feel when my dying breaths come. Will I forgive, can I even forgive? All I know is that I could never, and would never do something so awful to another human being, let alone my own flesh and blood. I have learned valuable lessons. I know how ugly hearted people can be, and it isn't pretty. It isn't nice, and it's almost inhuman. Aren't we on this planet to love and be loved? I know I don't have all the answers, and if I did...well then I would know why. And as I'm blathering on I just want to stop. I'm stopping. It's negative. And most importantly, it doesn't change anything.

On a more positive note...LA has rain and the trees are crying with joy...I can hear them! My family is all safe, healthy and loved. What a wonderful beginning to fall it is. Pumpkin patch on Saturday...hopefully I can get dodothebunny healthy by then. And hopefully I'll win another round on FantasyFB. Goooo weda's!! Oh, and the bolts are playin' this week. Can't beat that!! Gooooo Chargers!!

My baby got her FIRST haircut

I've had mixed feelings about cutting this gorgeous hair since Maddi was 6 months old. She was born with these beautiful locks and with tender loving care they were still healthy and gorgeous, just uneven because of how baby hair grows. I don't know how other moms out there feel or if it's even a big deal to them, but it was difficult to pull myself towards this haircut for a long time. My baby has never been bald (I don't even know what her head looks like under that hair) and it's sort of like crossing a bridge. If that makes sense. I just want to bottle her up and keep her young, beautiful and baby FOREVER! But also let her grow and bloom and see what a wonderful little person she comes to be. A little mixed feelings there as well. Being a mom isn't easy, but it is the most amazing thing in the world. I wouldn't change my life or alter it in any way...this life is the exact life I was born to lead. She was always suppose to be here, and I was always suppose to be here for her. So, watching this young woman cut my most precious babies hair off was hard, to put it mildly. I know this is the first of many (many that I cut on my own) and it's a milestone for her and I, I just can't help but think time really just does pass by unless you embrace each and every moment and take a mental picture. That way when time has gone by you can relive these precious times over and over in your mind. They come and go and sometimes we don't take the time to notice...Ahhh, but this time I did!! And I have a very clear picture in my mind of my girl and the love that surrounds her every single minute of every single day!!

16 months old

Maddi is a little over 16 months old now and she's never had her hair trimmed. I think it might be time, and I have mixed emotions about it. The growing pains are all mine.

This butts for you

My girl has some funk going on in her diaper. Sad. I've tried everything...warm baths, triple paste, and changing her diaper right when it's wet. I've even left her diaper off for hours, leading to a lot of trying out the potty so she wouldn't 'go' on the floor. Lets just say we've had a lot of accidents, and nothing has helped and if anything it almost looks worse. So after a few days of trying to clear this up I'm headed to the ped. tomorrow morning. I know a lot of people in my position would blame themselves, but not me! I'm super oc about her being clean (don't want her being a raggamuffin), so I know it's got to be some kind of yeast thing going on or an allergy, or something. It's funny because a friend of mine, after telling her that triple paste was the best, said that her son NEVER had a diaper rash (had that tone...you know the one I'm talking about). I'm sorry and know every child is different and all, but sometimes there is just no stopping it, especially when you roll in the car as much as we do. I do feel bad because every time I go to change her diaper she runs the other direction...so it must hurt. My poor baybeeeeee!

I've also been lagging on getting her blood drawn. Something about it just freaks me out!! And I know it's going to hurt, because it hurts me when I get it done and I'm braced for it. But it has to be done, so that appt. is Monday. I'll have to do something extra special for her after. Not sure what yet. But something just for her.

Booked my flight for Sept 1st to Paradise. Can't wait to visit with my family and spend some quality time with them. It feels like time goes by, but I'm not really in their lives. Sad, but true. My husband is wonderful...he really understands where I'm coming from and supports the decisions I make. I'm sure we'll miss each other, but it will be good for us. Anyway, I can't wait to relax and ride my mommas horse. Hopefully the weather is a little cooler by then because 105 just isn't cutting it. I know this is probably bad of me to say, but I know I'll need to make time for Ryan's mom/sisters, but I kind of want to be selfish and spend the first 4 days straight with my mom/dad/bro/grandma/grandpa. I know, what a horrible person I am, huh?!

Until next time...

Library

After living in Los Angeles 8+ years I finally signed up for a Library card, I can hardly believe it! Ryan and I thought we were spending toooooo much money on books that we whip through that getting a Library card would be the ticket. Oh boy, audio him (for his drives) and the hardbacks for me. Geez, did Maddi not have an indoor voice in there...she didn't want to be held, screamed, fell and hit her head on the shelve and promptly screamed and cried, and when she wasn't doing those things she simply said hi to everyone (with the outdoor voice). I was red with irritation and with embarrassment...what do people expect though...that since you have a child you can't go to the Library. I got my books quickly and exited just as fast, those looks from everyone were piercing. For the most part Maddi is the most well behaved infant I have ever seen, she rarely is fussy and the liek. It did make me frustrated at the people who had no patience for her. What am I suppose to do, never go anywhere? Yea, like that's going to happen. My girl deserves to go anywhere we please...and so we will.

Until next time Los Feliz Public Library...
